Two ‘ER’ alumni are eying returns to the small screen. Shane West has been cast on the CW’s ‘Nikita’ pilot, playing the agent in charge of Maggie Q’s assassin-in-training. Laura Innes, meanwhile, has joined NBC’s ‘The Event,’ playing the head of a mysterious detainment facility.

Carlos Bernard (’24′) is a detective keeping a close watch on the family of ‘Scoundrels’ headed by Virginia Madsen and Neal McDonough in an ABC dramedy.

Tim Blake Nelson (‘O Brother Where Art Thou’) is a psychologist-turned-tactical genius in ‘Chaos,’ a CBS drama about a team of CIA operatives led by Freddy Rodriguez.

• ‘Daily Show’ correspondent Jason Jones has scored the lead in the ABC comedy ‘How to Be a Better American,’ about a father who embarks on a journey of self-improvement.

Malcolm Barrett (aka ‘Better Off Ted’s Lem) is a former high school star turned all-around loser in the Fox comedy ‘Most Likely to Succeed.’

• Tony winner Patti Lupone will play mom to Laura Benanti’s book editor in the CBS comedy ‘Open Books.’

Domenick Lombardozzi (‘The Wire’) will partner with Laz Alonso’s U.S. Marshal to nab fugitives in Fox’s ‘Breakout Kings.’

• Hey, look – Kelli Giddish (of Fox’s just-expired ‘Past Life’) is also a fugitive-hunting U.S. Marshal, in NBC’s Jerry Bruckheimer-produced ‘Chase.’

Kelly Hu (‘X-Men 2′) is a tough-as-nails ADA in ‘The Odds,’ a buddy cop drama at CBS.

Malcolm-Jamal Warner (Theo!) and Eric Lange are San Francisco homicide detectives in ABC’s ‘True Blue.’
