Another late-night threesome? This time it’s not Oprah getting in between Jay and Dave…it’s Jerry!
While Jay Leno prepares to make a potentially shaky return to ‘The Tonight Show‘ on March 1, one of his go-to late-night guests will be laughing it up…over on CBS.
Jerry Seinfeld is scheduled to appear on ‘The Late Show with David Letterman‘ next week, the same time Jay makes his re-debut.
Seinfeld, as it was much fussed about last September, was Jay Leno’s first prime-time guest on that other show. When it flopped, the comedian defended the network, saying NBC had guts for giving it a shot.
Is Seinfeld now distancing himself from his former network home? Probably not.
Interesting, though, that he’s going on another network to promote his new NBC show ‘The Marriage Ref‘ (he’s producing), which will feature the likes of Madonna, once it premieres after the Olympic Games wrap-up.
Letterman is apparently so excited about facing off with Leno in the late-night arena once again, he threw away his scheduled vacation time, just so he could go chin-to-chin with his old frenemy right out of the gate.
P.S. Someone should probably inform these two late-night bullies that there’s a new late-night king in town.
