When the Academy’s nominees for Best Actor were announced for 2009, many were disappointed to find out that Sam Rockwell’s name didn’t make it onto that list for his incredible performance in the indie sci-fi drama Moon, which is now available to watch on Comcast On Demand. He’s almost entirely alone on screen and still carries the entire film, playing multiple roles and delivering on a really powerful emotional story. Dial it up today and you’ll see it for yourself. You can follow that up with Halloween II, also available On Demand, but Moon might stick with you a bit too strongly to delve into gore. Take a closer look below.

Moon
Sam Rockwell proves his unheralded greatness in the role of a lifetime in this Sundance hit. He stars as Sam Bell, who’s been alone for three years on a lunar outpost monitoring an automated mining facility with the help of an A.I. companion named Gerty (Kevin Spacey). He is desperate to end his contract and return to his family, but things start to go awry when he discovers an exact duplicate of himself and begins to realize the corporation he works for has a life-shattering plan to keep Sam in his position forever.

Halloween II
Rob Zombie continues his nightmarish new take on the classic horror franchise launched by John Carpenter, starring the psycho killer Michael Myers.
