‘The Shield’s Michael Chiklis will tap into his other famous alter ego, ‘Fantastic Four’s Ben Grimm, as the patriarch of ‘No Ordinary Family,’ ABC’s drama pilot about a clan whose members possess special abilities. Greg Berlanti (‘Dirty Sexy Money’) is producing.

In other pilot casting news, courtesy of the Hollywood Reporter:

Jennifer Finnigan (‘Close to Home’) has found a new home, playing sister to JoAnna Garcia (‘Privileged’) in ABC’s untitled comedy from Shana Goldberg-Meehan (‘Friends’). Finnigan’s the sensible sib, while Garcia’s character is pregnant and not quite yet wed to her babydaddy. Veteran sitcom director James Burrows will helm the pilot.

• Two ‘Friday Night Lights’ alums are tackling new gigs. Minka Kelly has landed a lead on the CBS’ comedy pilot ‘True Love,’ playing a sweet but strong-willed romantic, while Zach Gilford is a third-generation Chicago defense attorney in ABC’s ‘Matadors.’

Jason Ritter (‘The Class’) will star as a regular guy caught in the middle of a conspiracy in the NBC thriller ‘The Event.’

• Tony winner Laura Benanti (‘Gypsy’) has scored the lead in the CBS comedy pilot ‘Open Books.’ She’ll play a book editor at a tony publishing house in New York City.
