Set the mystery loose! ABC has announced an April 28 premiere for ‘Happy Town,’ its new ‘Twin Peaks‘-flavored drama series.

‘Happy Town’ will air Wednesdays at 10/9c, starting two weeks after ‘Ugly Betty‘ stages its series finale.

Set in the seemingly idyllic berg of Haplin, Minnesota, ‘Happy Town’ finds a deputy sheriff (‘October Road’s Geoff Stults) motivated into action when a new crime stirs up dormant memories of a serial kidnapper.

Amy Acker (‘Angel‘) plays his wife, and M.C. Gainey (‘Lost’s Mr. Friendly) his sheriff dad.

Populating Haplin’s founding family are Frances Conroy (‘Six Feet Under‘) as the grand matriarch and Steven Weber (‘Brothers & Sisters‘) as a “baking baron” who years prior lost his daughter to the kidnapper known only as “Magic Man.”

Lauren German (‘A Walk to Remember‘), Robert Wisdom (‘Prison Break‘) and Sam Neill (‘Jurassic Park‘) help round out the cast.
