Almost a year after Jason Mesnick proposed to Melissa Rycroft and then called it off only to choose his runner-up Molly Malaney, wedding bells finally will be ringing.
On the 13th season of ‘The Bachelor,’ Jason stunned viewers with the shocking – and apparently not staged – twist during the ‘After the Final Rose’ special when he gushed about Molly, “I love her. It was worth it. I will stand by that forever.”
Now he’s holding true to his word, and ABC will be there to chronicle it every step of the way, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Mesnick, 33, and Malaney, 25, who got engaged in October, are getting married–on TV.
A two-hour special, ‘The Bachelor: Jason and Molly’s Wedding,’ will air on ABC March 8th, in which viewers will get to see all the planning that went into the special day, including dress shopping, bachelor and bachelorette parties, as well as the actual ceremony.
The very first ‘Bachelorette‘ Trista Rehn and her firefighting knight-in-shining armor Ryan Sutter, who now have two children, reign as the sole union to come out of either of the ‘Bachelor’ franchises. ABC aired (and paid for) their nuptials back in 2004, a TV event that garnered 17.1 million viewers.
Since they’re headed down the same TV aisle, perhaps Jason and Molly will end up with the same happily ever after.
In the meantime, winner-turned-loser Melissa Rycroft–who “doesn’t regret anything that happened”–married her boyfriend Ty Strickland in December.
Wedding bells all around!
