This buzz-heavy and incredibly original sci-fi film from producer Peter Jackson and director Neill Blomkamp tells the story of aliens coming to Earth from a very new point of view. A massive alien spacecraft arrived hovering in stillness over South Africa, and when contact was finally made with the beings inside, they were in need of help and food. 20 years later, they all live in deplorable slums and are about to be evicted and forcefully moved into a detention camp. That is until Wikus van der Merwe (Sharlto Copley) of Multi-National United, who is running the eviction process, comes across a startling, horrifying discovery that changes everything.
The Invention of Lying
Ricky Gervais is a man living on a world of complete and utter honesty who becomes the first man to discover that people will believe anything he says, even if they aren’t true, and he realizes he can use that ability to hook up with Jennifer Garner and do anything else he wants.
Patton Oswalt stars in this drama as a quiet loner who works in a tollbooth and lives with his mother who has no interest in life beyond his fan-worship of the New York Giants. But when he actually meets some of his team’s players and things go horribly wrong, he’s faced with a choice between the good of the team and the pursuit of justice.
