You think cheerleading is hard? Try earning a second-season pick-up. Yet that is precisely what ‘Glee‘ has done, Fox announced on Monday.
What’s more, the network is inviting talented “Gleeks” out there to try out for three new roles being created for Season 2.
“We’ve loved ‘Glee’ ever since it was a pilot script, so it’s been an incredible thrill to watch the show take root and see the audience embrace these characters in such a huge way,” Fox entertainment present Kevin Reilly says of the pick-up. “The show is a true and rare gem in television.”
Now about those new roles, and how you might fill one of them. This February, the ‘Glee’ exec producers will launch a nationwide casting call open to amateurs and pros between the ages of 16 and 26. Additional details are to come at Fox.com/Glee. The star search will be chronicled for a multi-part special to be broadcast leading up to ‘Glee’s Season 2 debut this fall.
‘Anybody and everybody now has a chance to be on a show about talented underdogs,’ series creator Ryan Murphy says.
‘Glee’ resumes its freshman run on a new night, Tuesdays, starting April 13.
