Not that I needed another reason to tune into ‘Human Target,’ here is a primo one: Emmanuelle Vaugier is joining Fox’s soon-to-debut action-drama for multiple episodes, sources tell me exclusively.
Based on the DC Comics series of the same name, ‘Human Target‘ stars Mark Valley (‘Fringe‘) as Christopher Chance, a private detective who contracts himself out as an elite bodyguard. Vaugier, an alum of such disparate fare as ‘CSI: NY‘ (RIP, Detective Angell!), ‘Two and a Half Men’ and ‘Smallville,’ will play Emma Barnes, an FBI agent who crosses paths with Valley’s character.
The casting of Vaugier confirms a theory I formed upon first watching the ‘Human Target’ pilot, which guest-stars ‘Battlestar Galactica‘ bombshell Tricia Helfer: This enormously enjoyable piece of popcorn TV is going to be a showcase for some of the biz’s most exciting female talent.
‘Human Target’ debuts Sunday, January 17, at 8/7c, where it will tee up the two-hour season premiere of ‘24.’ After serving up a second episode on Wednesday, January 20, at 9 (leading out of ‘American Idol‘), the actioner will settle into its regular 8 o’clock slot starting January 27.
