If there’s one thing Katee Sackhoff loves more than her upcoming role on ‘24,’ it’s getting to work with heartthrob Freddie Prinze Jr.

“I’m living out my Katee in high school fantasy,” she told Fancast about acting alongside Prinze at the DVD release party for ‘Family Guy’s’ ‘Something, Something, Something, Dark Side.’ “It’s fantastic.”

This season on ’24′ Sackhoff will play a computer analyst named Dana Walsh. Walsh is engaged to Cole Ortiz, a fellow agent played by Prinze. Oh, and one more thing — she’ll be Chloe O’Brian’s new boss.

“I love Freddie. He’s a phenomenal, phenomenal man,” Sackoff said about her fictional fiancée. “I’ve been very lucky in my career to have been surrounded by beautiful, loving people and he’s one of them.”

As for the other aspects of the new gig, the sci-fi dialogue she had to say on ‘Battlestar Galactica’ didn’t really prepare her transition to technobabble. Sackhoff told us, “The tech jargon is a hell of a lot harder to get out of your mouth! [Laughs] It’s a nightmare.”

Recently, she guest starred on an episode of ‘The Big Bang Theory’ where she played a figment of Howard Wolowitz’s imagination in a bubble bath dream sequence. “I’m a huge fan of ‘The Big Bang Theory.’ To be part of it was honestly a dream come true,” she said.

Sackhoff enjoyed being on the show so much she even joked about pitching an idea to the series creator, “I told Chuck Lorre I need to be the number six to Wolowitz!”

The seventh season of ’24′ kicks off January 17 on Fox.
