‘Family Guy’ and ‘Cleveland Show’ Stars Party For The Dark Side

Family Guy‘ and ‘The Cleveland Show‘ will be seeing stars next season.

‘Family Guy’ series creator Seth MacFarlane hosted a star-studded holiday party at his home in Hollywood on Saturday night to celebrate the DVD release of the ‘Empire Strikes Back’ spoof ‘Something, Something, Something, Dark Side,’ which is available in stores on Dec. 22 — just in time for the holidays. Celebs like Seth Green and Paris Hilton carefully made their way down the (rainy and wet!) red carpet.

Why do a follow up to the insanely successful ‘Blue Harvest’ (‘FG’s’ 2007 ‘Star Wars’ parody episode)? “The first one did so well and there was such a demand that the second one seemed like a logical thing to do,” MacFarlane told Fancast.

And what’s up with all these intergalactic parodies? Seth Green – who voices Chris Griffin and has developed two of his own parodies of the franchise for his Adult Swim show ‘Robot Chicken’ – told us, “There’s so many things in the ‘Star Wars’ universe that when you look really close they’re kind of hilarious. It’s just ripe for parody.”

We also found several goodies about upcoming episodes.

MacFarlane revealed to us that former WWE wrestler and ‘Tooth Fairy’ star Dwayne Johnson will be lending his voice to the show in an episode. Rush Limbaugh – who did a cameo on the “Blue Harvest” episode — will be on the show again as himself (and Karl Rove will join in on the fun, according to The Hollywood Reporter.)

The guys behind the ‘Family Guy’ sister show, ‘The Cleveland Show’ were in attendance as well, and they tipped us off to some juicy news.

Show creator and star Mike Henry let us know that both Fergie and Kanye West will be making several appearances, and nothing seems to be off limits. (Maybe not even West’s 2009 MTV VMA snafu with Taylor Swift!)

“We’re making fun of all the crazy things he does,” Henry said about West, adding that the rapper could become a recurring character on the show, “He’s in two episodes so far and he’s game for more and we’re game for more.”

As for Fergie, she’ll be lending her voice to two roles, playing both the girlfriend and mother to Holt, who is voiced by ‘Saturday Night Live’ star Jason Sudeikis. “She’s spot on,” Henry said about the Black Eyed Peas singer. “If she wasn’t we wouldn’t have her.”

This never-before seen “Family Guy” adventure arrives on two-disc Blu-ray and DVD on December 22.
