Opening Wide: Armored, Brothers, Transylmania

Here’s what’s showing up in theaters nationwide this weekend. Natalie Portman is caught between Tobey Maguire and Jake Gyllenhaal in Brothers, Matt Dillon spearheads the heist thriller Armored, raunch is served in the monster movie spoof Transylmania and Robert De Niro is a struggling father in Everybody’s Fine.

This remake of a Danish film finds Tobey Maguire as Sam Cahill, a Marine in his fourth tour of duty in Afghanistan whose chopper is shot down in the mountains, leaving his wife Grace (Natalie Portman) to believe he’s dead. When Sam’s washout brother Tommy (Jake Gyllenhaal) steps up to take his place to help support his family, he finds himself growing closer to Grace, which brings everything to a head when Sam turns up alive with post traumatic stress disorder.
