Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight saga was a four-book series, but considering the insane amount of money that Summit Entertainment is making off of just the first two films, word has it that they are considering following Warner Brothers’ lead to squeeze another huge payday out of their flagship franchise. The final book is called Breaking Dawn, and it may now be split into two separate films, much like what’s been done with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, the last book in that series. Of course, it will mean renegotiating with the stars Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner, who all likely signed on for relative peanuts when no one expected much out of the first film. This would be their chance to really cash in on becoming uber-celebrities, just like the HP cast did for the eighth film. This is still contingent on Meyer’s approval and convincing New Moon director Chris Weitz to double-dip, but it’s difficult to imagine either one of them would deny themselves another huge payday.
