Brand new on DVD are a couple of comedies, each of a different vein. There’s the broad sequel 2 Night 2 Museum, or more properly, Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian, with an all-star cast. Then there’s Paper Heart, the quirky mockumentary from newcomer Charlyne Yi, about a weird girl who falls for Michael Cera while setting out to prove love is a lie.
Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian
Ben Stiller’s goofy night watchman is back, and this time he has to go to the Smithsonian to rescue his friends who’ve been shipped there by mistake. Featuring Amy Adams, Robin Williams, Owen Wilson, Hank Azaria, Jonah Hill, Steve Coogan, Bill Hader, Ricky Gervais, Dick Van Dyke, Ed Helms, Christopher Guest, Thomas Lennon and Darth Vader.
Charlyne Yi is a skeptic on a quest to make a documentary with her friend Nick about the reality of love as opposed to the fantasy we are all sold by Hollywood, but soon after filming begins, she meets Michael Cera, who takes a keen interest in her. The relationship between the two of them develops on camera, and Yi starts to believe in the concepts she used to deride. Featuring appearances from Seth Rogen, Martin Starr and Demetri Martin.
