FX’s midseason plan includes premiere dates for a few final ‘Nip/Tucks,’ the third round of ‘Damages‘ and a trio of brand-new series.

First up, Dr. McNamara and Troy begin taking their final appointments on Wednesday, January 6, as the slicin’, dicey ‘Nip/Tuck’ unspools its swan song. The final, nine-episode season features visits from Melanie Griffith (playing Kimbers’ mother), Joan Rivers (perhaps to serve up a cautionary tale?) and Frances Conroy, and encore appearances by Mario Lopez, Donna Mills and Joan Van Ark. The ‘Nip/Tuck’ series finale is slated for March 3.

‘Damages,’ in turn, will premiere its third season on Monday, January 25. Joining Glenn Close, Rose Byrne Tate Donovan and Ted Danson as series regulars this year are Campbell Scott and Martin Short, while guest stars include Lily Tomlin and Keith Carradine. Fresh fare from FX includes the animated spy series ‘Archer,’ premiering Thursday, January 14; ‘Justified,’ starring Timothy Olyphant (‘Damages’) as a U.S. Marshall and debuting in March; and ‘Louie,’ a comedy based on the observational humor of Louis C.K. and launching in the spring.
