Giving Thanks

Well it’s that time of year again…time for a little reflection on the year that was. We’ve had a great run in 2009 here and I’d like to take a moment to call out a few things we are thankful for as we pass the turkey around the Fancast HQ dinner table this week.

Our Incredible Traffic Numbers
As we close out 2009, visits to our site continues to grow. In October Comscore data showed that Fancast was the 80th site in the US with 11.3 million unique visitors. Holy Moly Batman!

You could say that we’ve been quietly becoming huge; growing from 3 million users to 11 million in one year. Our most recent growth spurt can be tied to our fall TV campaign that introduced Fancast to a whole new audience of uninitiated online TV fans. The folks who created these ads did a fantastic job. If you have not already, check them out and tell us which one you like best. Additionally, our editorial team turned up the content specials and kept fans coming back for all the latest and greatest scoops and information on the Fall TV Season.

Our Great New Design
Yesterday we completed a three week deployment of our new design, the last piece being updated article pages. Our awesome design team spent much of the year with the unenviable task of improving the great design they did LAST year. I think they succeeded though (see above), and you’ll see more of their new design in complementary products like Comcast.net and the Comcast iPhone app in the months to come.

Our Next Product Feature
Coming soon is On Demand Online – bringing more content online, and it’s Crazy-Go-Nuts exciting. If you’d like some background, watch this. It’s just a few more weeks until we launch it, just in time for the holidays!

Our Amazing Users
Last but definitely not least, we are thankful for you guys. We are really lucky to have so many fans who love the site. We get your emails, Facebook messages and Tweets and it means a lot to us that you are discovering and enjoying the site. Without you, most of the list above would not have happened…so keep up the good work. Watch more stuff!!

So In Conclusion…
As you can see we have a lot to be thankful for. Lots of great stuff happened, lots more great stuff just around the corner. We all here at Fancast hope you have a great holiday, be safe, but most importantly…pass the cranberry sauce already, while you watch our Thanksgiving specials.
