The Associated Press is reporting this morning that Mutual of Omaha has decided to drop its lawsuit against Oprah Winfrey’s company over the rights to the phrase, “official sponsor of the aha moment”.

While Mutual had produced documents that it has obtained preliminary approval of a federal trademark for the term, “preliminary” still means preliminary and there is no way Oprah was going to lose any relation to her signature phrase, “Aha Moment.”

This all began when MoH started using the phrase “official sponsor of the aha moment” in a national advertising campaign and Oprah’s HARPO productions argued that the term was synonymous with Winfrey and her show.

Yes, people – Oprah always wins.
