And another TV show remake bites the dust!

Looks like ABC is taking its broomstick and sweeping ‘Eastwick‘ under the carpet. The network has canceled the Rebecca Romijn series, which failed to bewitch viewers.

You know it’s an unfortunate situation when a trio of hot chicks can’t beat a beat-down ‘Jay Leno’ at 10 p.m.

The network is expected to air all 13 of the originally planned episodes for the update of the 1987 Jack Nicholson film, ‘The Witches of Eastwick,’ which was based on the John Updike novel.

There’s better news for Christian Slater.

His Jerry Bruckheimer-backed crime procedural ‘The Forgotten‘ received an additional order of five more episodes.

However, there’s still no word on the fate of Kelsey Grammer’s ‘Hank.’

In other surprising news, ABC is pulling the plug on its new dance show ‘Let’s Dance,’ in which celebrities would have re-created famous dance routines, according to The Hollywood Reporter. (Or perhaps the surprise was that they picked it up in the first place?)

Just announced last week, the reality show already had a host in ‘D-List‘ Queen Kathy Griffin and a premiere date–November 23rd–but apparently no contestants. It seems the network had trouble casting the series.

They’re probably all too busy sitting on the sofa watching ‘Dancing with the Stars.’
