Little Grey’s romance with Mark is going to face a big obstacle – and it could come in the form of ‘Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles‘ alumna Leven Rambin.

Rambin revealed via Twitter that she was filming an episode of ‘Grey’s Anatomy‘ this week, adding: “I’m coming for McSteamy!” The starlet’s titillating Tweet has since been deleted and was followed up with a less-revealing “First day of filming ‘Grey’s Anatomy’!”

Although an ABC spokeswoman would not confirm Rambin’s casting – let alone her possible role as spoiler to the “Mexie” romance – one thing is for sure: Meredith’s half-sister will find her and Mark’s relationship tested one way or another later this season.

“Everyone, except for Bailey, is coupled up, so its been very interesting to play the ups and downs of that and throw some wrenches into a few of the plans,” ‘Grey’s’ creator Shonda Rhimes told me as part of our November sweeps preview Q&A. “For Mark and Lexie, we’re going to watch them struggle with their relationship in a way that nobody expects at all.”

“A way that nobody expects,” eh? Indeed, a ‘Grey’s’ insider tells me that Rambin is not necessarily coming on board as a love interest for Mark, but could stir things up in a different way.

‘Grey’s Anatomy’ airs Thursdays at 9/8c. Read what Rhimes had to say about this week’s Derek-centric episode.
