Despite everything they’ve been through, Jon and Kate are willing to put aside their differences for their kids’ sakes.
According to US Weekly, the estranged couple celebrated their twin daughters, Mady and Cara’s, 9th birthday at the $1.1 million home they used to share. And they left their ill-tempers and bitter disputes at the door. Jon told the magazine, “We kept it cordial for the kids.”
On Wednesday, however, Jon thought that the birthday visit was going to end in the usual drama, telling Entertainment Tonight, “It could be WWIII when I get home.”
According to People Magazine, the doting father previously said that Kate’s “trying to prevent me from seeing my kids on their birthday because she doesn’t want to see me.”
“She’s basically saying it would be too stressful to the kids to have both of us here, like we originally planned,” he told the show. But during the visit, things must have been going smoothly since he remarked, “I’m staying until the kids go to bed.”
So aside from their parents’ reunion, what did this birthday bring for the twin girls? According to many sources, Jon brought a cake from New York with Mady’s name spelled wrong. But The Insider says that he more than made up for it with his other gifts.
Sources told The Insider that Jon got Mady a laptop and Cara an ATV that will arrive next week.
