Who shot J.R.? Plenty of ‘Dallas’ fans tuned in to discover that Kristin Shepard was the famed culprit. And TNT is hoping the hot prime-time soap of yesteryear can once again spark interest.

Much like the re-launch of ’90210′ and ‘Melrose Place,’ Warner Brothers is set to explore the next generation of Ewings in a ‘Dallas’ remake, according to the New York Times.

Original ‘Dallas’ stars Larry Hagman, Linda Gray and Patrick Duffy have all been approached to appear in the pilot. No word yet on how many signed up. J.R. Ewing and Sue Ellen’s son John Ross is supposedly the center of attention on the new ‘Dallas’ along with Bobby and Pam’s adopted son Christopher. A family tree might be in order for those unfamiliar with the ‘Dallas’ bunch.

Whether or not ‘Dallas’ will be anything more than a pilot episode remains to be seen.
