The man who was arrested in connection with Ashley “A.J.” Jewell’s death over the weekend has been charged with voluntary manslaughter.

Frederick Richardson, an employee of Body Tap Club, where Jewell was involved in the fight that caused his fatal head injuries, is being detained at Grady Detention Center in Atlanta, GA.

Jewell, who died on Friday after the fight, was the former fiance of Kandi Burress of ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ fame. He had appeared on several episodes of the Bravo series.

The Atlanta Journal blogs report that the argument may have been caused by both men dating the same woman, a dancer who worked at the club.

Bravo has also not yet divulged if there will be any changes to the last three episodes of ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta,’ that are left to air, or the reunion show that is set to tape on Wednesday.

Kandi Burress’ rep released the following statement to US Magazine:

As has been reported, Ashley Jewell, 34, was killed in Atlanta last night. AJ, as he is known to many and Kandi Burruss of Real House Wives of Atlanta and formerly of platinum recording group Xscape were engaged to be married. Kandi is devastated as she is also mourning the death of her uncle, Ralph Leslie, and is attending his funeral today. She has no statements to make at this time and there are no final details on the death of AJ.
