“Do Not Miss the First Minute!” You’ve been warned, ‘NCIS‘ fans!

Tuesday’s season premiere features “an amazing shock,” executive producer Shane Brennan tells me.

And yes, Tony-Ziva fans, this pertains to you rabid lot.

“Tony and Ziva fans are going to be blown away by the first episode,” says Brennan. “It’s not what they expect. We do this really well on ‘NCIS.’ We say, this is what it’s about, and everyone says I know what’s gonna happen, and then we just do this thing out of left field. The first episode…everyone needs to watch the first minute.”

“Right at the very top in the first minute they’re gonna get an amazing shock and they’re gonna go, ‘Okay…what the hell is happening?’ And they’re going to see….well, everyone who has been involved in this episode thinks it’s probably one of the best episodes out of the 140 we’ve done.”

Should we believe the hype?

“I don’t tease,” says Brennan. “It’s very powerful.”

“There are some very powerful episodes in the first half dozen. Is anyone in jeopardy? I won’t rule out that at some point in the future we may lose another character. I don’t expect it to happen this season, though.”

The season premiere of ‘NCIS’ airs Tuesday at 8 p.m., followed by the debut of ‘NCIS: Los Angeles’ at 9 p.m. on CBS.
