This morning the ladies of The View dived right into a hot topic with guest host LaToya Jackson, the mysterious circumstances surrounding the death of the her brother Michael.
LaToya has been one of the more outspoken members of the Jackson family, firmly stating her belief that he was murdered. When asked if she’s been in contact with the now infamous doctor that was in charge of Michael’s care up until his last moments, LaToya admitted, “I had not heard from Dr. Conrad Murray.”
Whoopi then said, “I find it hard to believe this man would out and out murder Michael.” LaToya responded, “There’s so many things circling this thing. Who knows, perhaps he was the fall guy.” She continued, “He was not being paid by Michael. I know he was being paid AEG.”
AEG Live was the promotion company in charge of Michael’s 50-show comeback concert at the O2 Arena in London.
LaToya later stated that her brother told her, “LaToya they’re going to kill me,” before insisting that she could not speak on the subject much longer. She also made an allusion to the fact that the tours were insured in the event of Michael’s death. “So far my theory has been right,” she said before the topic was quickly changed to LaToya and Sherri Shepherd’s days together in bible study.
According to an article at Billboard.biz back in May, AEG Live CEO Randy Phillips spoke about the insurance stating, “We have one policy in place and we’re negotiating for an even larger binder. We have insured the production costs. In order to get the first part of the insurance in place, [Jackson] had to have a physical, and he passed it with flying colors.”
Barabra Walters, hoping to that her ability to get LaToya on both 20/20 and The View, would mean that she had a shot at getting President Obama to grace his presence on the show. Staring into the camera she pleaded, “You were on with us when you were running. Come on with us again. President Obama if you’re doing everyone, do us!”
