Paula Abdul may not have landed the gig, but now we know who did.

Adam Shankman, a producer and director with titles like ‘Bedtime Stories,’ and ‘Hairspray’ under his belt, will be a new judge on the series ‘So You Think You Can Dance.’

He has acted as guest judge and choreographer on SYTYCD since 2007.

Executive Producer and judge Nigel Lythgoe said he was “extremely happy” over the decision. “We love bantering and bickering, and yet he still finds a way of capturing the sensitivity of every story told on stage,” he added. “He is a consummate professional with a passion for dance and a discerning eye, which makes him perfect for us. Plus, it must be remembered, it takes a slightly crazy person to work with me and Mary.”

The new season of SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE airs Tuesdays (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) and Wednesdays (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. Shankman’s stint begins October 27 for the Top 20 performance show.
