Academy Award winner Helen Hunt might soon return to prime-time television as NBC is considering the actress for its upcoming series ‘Parenthood.’ The Hollywood Reporter writes that Hunt would replace former cast member Maura Tierney who bowed out last week to deal with her breast cancer.
Based on the 1989 film, this version of ‘Parenthood’ marks the second time NBC has tried adapting the story for TV following a short-lived version in 1990. Hunt’s character would be one of four siblings opposite Peter Krause, Erika Christensen and Dax Shepard.
Should Hunt accept the offer she would be returning to the network where she spent seven years in the comedy ‘Mad About You’ – a series she won multiple Emmys for.
‘Parenthood’ is set to premiere as a midseason replacement.
