Is there anything hotter than vampires right now? ‘True Blood’ is wrapping up its second season this Sunday night on HBO after a record-setting season in the ratings, ‘New Moon’ is due later this Fall and the Twilight nation is already going bonkers over that. Up next? Tonight’s series premiere of ‘The Vampire Diaries,’ set to debut at 8pm ET on The CW. Based on the popular series of books by L.J. Smith, and executive produced by Julie Plec (‘Kyle XY‘) and Kevin Williamson (‘Dawson’s Creek‘), the show is at its heart a small-town, teen drama that happens to center around two vampire brothers fighting over the affections of an orphaned girl. As The CW tagline says, “Love sucks” indeed!
