Laura Linney is the latest in the long line of respected film stars finding quality work on television.
Linney will star in and executive produce a new half-hour ‘dark comedy’ for Showtime called ‘The C Word’ about a suburban wife and mother diagnosed with cancer.
She joins Showtime’s growing stable of powerhouse females, including Edie Falco (‘Nurse Jackie’) , Toni Collette (United States of Tara’) and Mary-Louise Parker (‘Weeds’).
The three-time Oscar nominee appeared on TV last year in Tom Hanks’ award-winning HBO miniseries ‘John Adams.’
