On tonight’s season premiere of ‘Ghost Hunters,’ the gang heads to Blackstone, MA to help a family who is facing a violent, dark force in their home – a force that ends up attacking Jason Hawes.

“We deal with a possible inhuman case, something that we don’t deal with too often,” Steve Gonsalves told us during a chat today. He also spilled the beans about a special guest star coming up on a September episode – Legendary musician Meatloaf. “He told us that the show is his favorite show in the world, he was so into it,” he told us. “He even offered to help us analyze the evidence, which he did do!”

What’s coming up this season?
We actually have a lot of fun stuff this season. We’ve got some of the best evidence. Talked to Jason just the other day, we got some of the best footage we’ve ever gotten. This season we have Josh Gates [of Destination Truth'] coming on board with us for an episode. We have Meatloaf coming on board for an episode. We just filmed that one. We had a really good time.

What was working with Meatloaf like? He told us that the show is his favorite show in the world, he was so into it. He even offered to help us analyze the evidence, which he did do! And the task is pretty boring though. It’s 16 hours of sitting! But it’s not that it’s fun or not fun, it’s just your butt gets sore and your back starts to hurt, you know.

How did he get involved with the show? It’s pretty crazy. Not exactly sure how they’ll show it on the episode, but from what I heard from him, he said it was his favorite show. He wanted to either be on the show or just come along on an investigation and hang out in the background. So I guess he took it upon himself. He had his agents get in touch with our TV show. And he just started emailing the TAPS website, saying, “Yep, this is really Meatloaf, I’m trying to get in touch.” He was cool, he was a really nice guy.

On tonight’s episode: We dealt with a possible inhuman case, something that we don’t deal with too often. Finding a legitimate one is extremely difficult. There’s a lot of people who claim they have dark forces in their house and they’re being pushed around and all that stuff. But when you go through the questioning and the filtering process then you find out they’re not really having these experiences. But we were finally able to get a hold of one that’s actually experiencing it.

I know from the show you’re not too fond of spiders. What else are you afraid of? I’m not a big fan of flights. I can’t get on a plane. Centipedes I’m not too crazy about.

Why the spider phobia? I have no idea. If I found out maybe I can go back to it and try to reverse it. I wish I didn’t have to worry about that at night. When I see one in my ceiling in my room I have to go sleep in the living room.

After you pass on, if you could haunt any location in the world where would you pick? Probably Disney. I mean, I don’t know how crazy their corporate structure is, not sure if I could support them. (laughing)

What celebrity would you like to make contact with? Maybe Billy Mays? Actually, no, maybe not him, although I am a bit Billy Mays fan. I don’t know. I’d love to say the typical ones like Jesus Christ. I’d love to get to the bottom of those things. I do have faith. I do believe, it would be interesting to see what that is all about. Not really Elvis, not a big fan of Elvis, although I’m sure he has a lot of good stories.

The new season premieres Wednesday night at 9/8c on Syfy
