Tuned In: What’s Hot In The World Of TV

Big Brother 11‘ delivered its best Tuesday numbers of the season for CBS last night, pulling in nearly 7 million viewers last night. This is up 10 percent in households and 8 percent in total viewers from last Tuesday night’s episode. Things are really heating up in the house with meathead Russell on the block and the potentially game-changing Coup d’Etat power in Jeff’s hands.

What’s Hot:

In a bit of surprise, TNT’s freshman medical drama ‘HawthoRNe‘ was just picked up this week for a second season. The series drew middling ratings for the network (averaging around 3.8 million weekly viewers), but boasted a strong cast led by Jada Pinkett Smith and Michael Vartan. Hopefully the series can learn from its first-year jitters and come back with more compelling stories next summer.

Tuesday Night Highlights:

NYC Prep
On last night’s season finale of Bravo’s guilty pleasure show of the summer, bad boy PC (spoiler alert) got into the college of his dreams: Occidental??? Yes, it’s a small college outside LA – which is where the spoiled little rich boy is dying to be. We also saw plenty of drama between Camille and Jessie – who was loving being in the spotlight at her Operation Smile shindig. Sebastian had another “heart to heart” with dear old dad (these are some of my favorite moments) where he was told to “maybe not focus on girls so much.” Umm sure, that’s about as likely to happen as Sebastian is to chop off his trademark long locks. Either way, there better be a season two.

Big Brother

More crazy behavior in the BB house last night as Russell and Chima had it out again, Kevin actually won something (the veto), but shockingly he didn’t use it to save his best friend Lydia. The tattooed hairstylist now remains on the block vs. Russell, and we’ll see who goes home Thursday night. And whether Jeff will use the much-hyped Coup d’Etat power – or perhaps he’d be better off teaching his “showmance” Jordan how to tell time. Yes, she is that dumb.
