Tuned In: What’s Hot In The World Of TV

‘The Big Bang Theory‘ is continuing to evolve into a solid hit for CBS, even during summer repeats. Last night Sheldon and the boys were the top-rated show in the coveted 18-49 demo, beating out its lead-in ‘Two and a Half Men.’ The comedy got a lot of attention last season, and is riding a high with an Emmy nomination for star Jim Parsons and a recent TCA Award honoring the series for Best Comedy (and Parsons as well.) CBS’s confidence in moving the show to air after ‘Men’ in the fall seems to have been a stroke of genius.
What’s Hot:
For all you ‘King of the Hill‘ fans out there, finally a bit of good news. Fox just announced they will be airing a special, one-hour series finale on September 13th at 8pm ET. Of course this still leaves four unaired episodes, but hey beggars can’t be choosers right? (And we know we’ll get to see them on TV). In the final hour in Arlen, Bobby gets teased mercilessly by girls in his school and prepare for a surprising wedding.
Monday TV Highlights:
Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List
In the season finale of ‘Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List,’ our girl was reminded once again of her place in the Hollywood food chain. She was denied a spot on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, but who came calling with a spot for her? Yup, Palm Springs. So Kathy & company trekked south and tried to scrounge up someone to present her. It turns our A-list stars Suzanne Somers and Barry Manilow surprised her with the honors. She also chose her book cover and got the honor of becoming a wax figure at Madame Tussaud’s. (And yes, Kathy was pleased to see her likeness didn’t have a line on her sculpted face.)
