Planet Green kicks off a spectacular month of programing this August, with the premiere of ‘Blue August,’ which delves into important global disaster and water conservation issues.

The project kicks off next Wednesday, August 12 with a very special episode of ‘Focus Earth With Bob Woodruff: Troubled Waters.’ Award-winning anchor Bob Woodruff will explore the role that water plays in the health of the planet – and the danger in the toxic runoff, dying marine life and dead zones that have now become so commonplace.

Then on ‘Acid Test: The Global Challenge of Ocean Acidification,’ premiering immediately after, actress Sigourney Weaver will take us through the problem of ocean acidification, a consequence of global warming, which may one day kill off thousands of marine species.

The specials will also be hosted by Philippe and Alexandra Cousteau, the son and daughter of premiere explorer – and conservationist – Jack Cousteau. Check out Philippe talking about the problem of plastics in the water.

Catch the specials on Wednesday, August 12 at 10 and 10:30PM ET/PT at Planet Green
