The Death of The City? Is the future of the Lauren Conrad/Whitney Port/Audrina Patridge trilogy in jeopardy? MTV president of programming Tony DiSanto explained that changes will come to the network, with an emphasis on a more unscripted reality – as opposed to the scripted reality that it ‘The Hills,’ and ‘The City.’ Why? Because a generational shift may be responsible for the loss of ratings for these types of series. The new kids would rather watch ’16 and Pregnant,’ he said, adding “They don’t want to see a reality show that feels produced or is film-like. It’s got to be real, authentic.”
Baby Trouble: The German equivalent of NBC’s ‘Baby Borrowers,’ ‘Erwachsen auf Probe,’ is in hot water, after the German network that airs the series received numerous complaints from viewers who allege “neglect and bodily harm of minors.” The show, which lends babies to teens who want to become parents, has faced ongoing controversy in the country, with complaints from the Church, Family groups and the Parliament.
