The Bachelorette‘ was Monday’s top-rated show on network TV, even as the series is pulling in much fewer numbers than the spring season of ‘The Bachelor,’ which starred single dad Jason Mesnick. ‘I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here‘ aired a two-hour episode and dropped slightly from last week, pulling in 4.3 million viewers. In the tight late night battle, ‘The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien‘ edged out ‘The Late Show with David Letterman‘ in the demo, but was second in overall households.

Monday Highlights:

The Bachelorette
We know that not everyone that goes onto these “romance” reality shows is there for love and altruistic measures, but never has a contestant been so upfront about it as Wes was on last night’s episode. The aspiring country music singer from Texas was honest with the other gentlemen on why he was really there saying, “The fame that I’ll get from this, it’s almost like I taste it and I eat it. It comes inside of me and becomes a part of me. There’s no doubt that this is gonna help me. I’m getting excited, this is fun. I’ve got records to sell. I’ll always have Jillian wrapped around my finger, believe me. I’ve already made it 6 shows. That’s gonna be a huge thing for me, I already sang my song. I’ve got what I wanted, if I can get a little publicity on TV, I can haul ass. I came here for the music, I didn’t come here for the girl.”

Wow! Surprisingly (and sadly) Jillian ended up giving Wes a rose ensuring he’ll be on another episode next week. None of the guys told her what he had said in front of them, but it looks like that will change next week. In previews for next Monday’s episode, booted bachelor Jake returns to tell Jillian Wes’s true colors (or at least the fact that he has a girlfriend back home). Things are about to really get good…

Tuesday Sizzlers:

  • America’s Got Talent: 8pm ET on NBC The summer’s biggest show is back for another season, but the big question is – will anyone compare to worldwide sensation Susan Boyle? Judge Piers Morgan has said there are “a few” acts who rival SuBo’s talent.
  • The Real Housewives of New Jersey: 9pm on Bravo It’s the reunion show we’ve all been waiting for. Will Teresa flip some tables? Will Danielle have a new assumed name? And how many times will we hear the word “bubbies”?
  • The Cleaner: 10pm on A&E Benjamin Bratt is back – and he’ll do anything to get junkies clean in the second season premiere of this A&E drama.
