People are salivating to see Star Trek to find out how this new revamp is going to work. These six new clips from the film we’ve got here on Fancast will give you some hints as to where they’re going with this, and just how a Shatnerless James T. Kirk is going to look. We’ll start off with this clip from the beginning of the film, featuring the angry Romulan commander Nero (Eric Bana) and his right-hand man Ayel (Clifton Collins) setting things in motion as a crew of vengeful aliens out of time on their own mad search for Spock (Leonard Nimoy).
Kirk’s attempts to mack on Uhura eventually result in his being made a bloody mess, when Captain Pike (Bruce Greenwood) of the U.S.S. Enterprise sits the angry young man down and inspires him to do something more with his life.
So when Kirk boards the shuttle taking in new Starfleet recruits, he meets a cranky doctor by the name of Leonard McCoy (Karl Urban). This is how a friendship is born – and honestly, Urban’s McCoy is the best part of the entire movie.
Kirk eventually winds up on the Enterprise under Pike’s command, and finds himself undertaking a death-defying mission of grave importance with Sulu (John Cho) and another cadet with a notably red uniform.
When Pike is indisposed, the bridge of the Enterprise becomes embroiled within the battle of wills between Kirk and the logic-bound half-Vulcan Spock (Zachary Quinto). When Kirk shows up having found Montgomery Scott (Simon Pegg), Spock wants answers that Kirk won’t give him.
