While there’s no certainty that NBC’s ‘Chuck‘ will return for a third season, it sure won’t be for lack of old-fashioned, geek-fueled trying.
The web is abuzz this morning with campaign after campaign to get the NBC brass to reconsider even thinking about canceling this lovable dramedy . However, with Jay Leno taking an hour at 10PM this fall, NBC doesn’t have a whole lot of free real estate for ‘Chuck’ that, while underground and critically acclaimed manages to only draw around six million viewers weekly.
Yeah its fun to see a grassroots campaigns take off for a show that is totally worth saving. However, if you are interested in saving ‘Chuck’ you’ve got to watch the finale tonight – and get as many people as you can to do the same. Finally, after watching the show, head outside (I know if tough for some of this show’s core) and buy season one on DVD.
Take the cash you’re thinking about spending in order to send Nerds to NBC execs or on $5 footlongs and buy the DVD set. Nothing will have a greater impact on NBC purchasing a third season of ‘Chuck’ if it thinks it can make more money with that third season.
