Predator, the movie that has spawned the most United States governors, is going to get the Robert Rodriguez reboot treatment. The original classic starred Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jesse Ventura and Carl Weathers and stands firm as one of the coolest action flicks of the 1980s, even if the sequels didn’t quite live up to the standards. Now, in a short announcement that also included mentions of his upcoming projects Machete, Nerverackers, Sin City 2 and The Jetsons, Rodriguez said he’s relaunching the franchise as Predators and he plans to film them all in Texas. This would fall in line with the fact that he apparently wrote a Predator 3 script a while back that was never used because it was considered to be “too big.” The pluralization of Predator is a good indication that he might just be working from that sizable screenplay.

Here’s a better look at the Predators as a species, from when they landed in Los Angeles and harassed Danny Glover in Predator 2.

And here’s a Predator kickin’ some Alien ass in Alien vs. Predator.
