‘Dancing with the Stars’: A World of Hurt

This gives new meaning to the phrase “break a leg.”

Another “Dancing” star has been injured!

Legendary computer geek Steve Wozniak was photographed with a cast on his left leg Wednesday, after reportedly fracturing his foot during practice.

But Steve’s dancing days are not over yet–he says he will be back Monday night to perform another dance that’s “wild and fast, and all-over and crazy and fun, just like the first one.”

Doctors have advised him to take precautions and rest his foot as much as he can.

Affectionately known as “The Woz,” Steve is clearly out of his element…and loving every second of it. It takes a lot of guts to get out there in front of 20 million people live and do something brand new, and while Steve and his partner Karina Smirnoff had the lowest scores of the night, they definitely charmed the audience with their playful cha cha.

Judge Bruno Tonioli, known for his outlandish commentary, was overly harsh with many of the dancers on the season premiere, and Steve was hit with one of the zingers.

Steve writes on his blog that he’s received tremendous support from fans, friends and his fellow dancers, and isn’t letting the rude comment get to him: “All I heard was some teletubby comment, which might be valid. I would say that there is a big mismatch between the judges’ votes and the audience responses.”

Meanwhile, E! is reporting that Steve-O is nursing a back injury.

Steve-O says to E!’s Mark Malkin: “A physical therapist has told me that nerves are being pinched in my back, and it is in spasms because of inflammation related to torn muscles. I’m doing everything I can to let it heal—icing it, taking Advil, drinking water, visiting a chiropractor and continuing to be worked on by the physical therapist. I’m still rehearsing every day, but walking through my salsa routine rather than practicing the physical stunts and tricks that are incorporated into it. It is going to be a risky routine that I hope to pull off.”

A week before the competition began, contestants Jewel and Nancy O’Dell suffered knee injuries that forced them to withdraw, while Gilles Marini, who wowed the crowd and topped the leaderboard in Week 1, has already endured shoulder and groin injuries.

“Dancing with the Stars” airs Monday night at 8 pm/ET on ABC.
