Showtime Star Back in Rehab

It isn’t easy being king.

Jonathan Rhys Meyers has reportedly entered a treatment facility in England for alcohol addiction, according to the newspaper, The Irish Independent.

The 31-year-old star, who plays Henry the VIII on “The Tudors” and who also played that other king, Elvis, is on his third trip to rehab, following stints in 2005 and 2007.

Rhys Meyers was arrested in November 2007 at a Dublin airport for public drunkeness, but it was revealed soon after that the Irish actor was grieving the death of his mother.

Meanwhile, I recently spoke with Rhys Meyers about what we can look forward to on the upcoming season of “The Tudors.”

“A lot more killing,” Rhys Meyers said, adding with a wink, “A bit of sex as well.”

But of course.

The Showtime series has become known as quite the romp, but Rhys Meyers doesn’t think he has the sexiest show on TV.

“Oh please, ‘Californication‘ is!” he laughs, deferring the title to fellow Showtime star David Duchovny. “He’s a bad boy.”

Well, your Majesty, if that isn’t the pot calling the kettle black….

With two wives down and four to go, bad boy Henry returns April 5 for the third season of “The Tudors.”
