Alexis Bledel is set to guest star on the two-hour series finale of “ER,” People reports.

She’ll play a new intern at County General named Dr. Julia Wise. We’re not sure why a “new” intern would be introduced on the last episode of the show, but before any imaginations start running wild, here’s a reminder that executive producer John Wells has repeatedly shot down rumors of a spinoff.

Bledel won hearts playing good girl Rory Gilmore for seven years on the beloved series “Gilmore Girls.”

“ER’s” long goodbye has included the return of several original cast members, such as Anthony Edwards, Eriq La Salle and Noah Wyle.

Longtime fans won’t want to miss the March 12 episode: George Clooney, who left the show in 1999, reprises his role as Dr. Doug Ross, along with Julianna Margulies as Nurse Hathaway, in an hour that also features Susan Sarandon (who’s now playing grandmothers).

After 15 seasons and 22 Emmys, “ER” comes to an end on April 2.
