The AP reports that Paul McCartney will be a guest on “The Colbert Report” tonight to push his latest release “Electric Arguments” a collaboration with producer-musician Youth, and released under the band name “The Fireman.”

This will mark the first time the living music legend, former member of the Beatles and Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame inductee goes on the late-night talk show circuit to promote the album. The twist? Each track was written, sung and recorded in a single day, with Sir Paul playing all the instruments. The last time he tried that, “Maybe I’m Amazed” was the result.

What are the odds that Colbert may be looking for a producer himself, now that “A Colbert Christmas: The Greatest Gift of All” has been moving steadily up the charts?

Not a chance. The best bet is that McCartney will really be there to promote his just announced appearance at this year’s Grammy Awards on February 8th.

Tune in to The Colbert Report tonight at 11:30 on Comedy Central to find out.

We’ll be watching on Fancast.
