What do you do at the end of a strange year plagued by domestic squabbles, bad driving and a stint in rehab? Chuck it all and go caroling with Ellen!
Us Magazine reports that Britney Spears got an early start on spreading holiday cheer last week when she appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, donned some festive garb and knocked on a bunch of ramdom doors in Hollywood for some Christmas duets with her old pal.
Spears could use a little cheering up as she heads for New Year’s Eve poised on the brink of what is being called the greatest comeback in show biz history. After launching a new album, “Circus” and embarking on the first leg of a world wide concert tour, reviews for her just released MTV documentary “Britney: For The Record” swing wildly from sheer genius to vapid boredom. But that’s okay. A few hours with Ellen is enough to lift anyone’s spirits.
It seems Britney was already getting in the mood, having lit the neon L.A. Christmas tree, just the night before.

Let’s hope the trip around the block holds the key to a 2009 that someday will be fondly recalled as the year Britney Spears pulled it all together again.
Stay tuned to find out. The epsode airs December 16th.
