Only time will tell who will win the upcoming Presidential election, but we may now have a sign as to which politician the public is most interested in, thanks to Nielsen ratings. It seems that Sarah Palin’s speech at last night’s Republican National Convention drew in 6.2 million viewers per network on a total of 8 networks, whereas Obama’s speech pulled in 3.8 million per network among 10 networks. Both telecasts beat the Oscars, Olympics and American Idol finale ratings. And that, my fellow Americans, debunks the myth that we are as a people are more interested in Paula Abdul’s next on-screen meltdown than in our nation’s leaders.
