On the heels of the mega-successful Dark Knight film taking movie theaters by storm, Christian Bale, the star of the movie, has somehow gone and gotten himself into trouble. Outlets are reporting that the actor turned himself into authorities in London on Monday (where he was for Batman press duties), after his mother and sister lodged complaints of an alleged assault. He has since been released but is scheduled to appear in court in September.

Update: The actor’s lawyers released a statement on Tuesday on behalf of the actor. It reads:
Christian Bale attended a London police station today, on a voluntary basis, in order to assist with an allegation that had been made against him to the police by his mother and sister,” the star’s lawyers said in the statement. “Mr. Bale who denies the allegation, co-operated throughout, gave his account in full of the events in question, and has left the station without any charge being made against him by the police. At this time, there will be no further comment by Mr. Bale.
