The movie that made a name for a cornrowed blonde named Bo Derek back in 1979, Blake Edwards’ mid-life crisis sex comedy 10, has been nabbed by Hyde Park for remake purposes. Apparently, the company had to work long and hard to get Edwards to trust them enough to sell the rights, and they hope to have a global search for the new “10.”
The old “10″ being Derek, who plays an attractive woman whose stunning beauty inspires Dudley Moore into a full-on mid-life crisis, following her around and questioning his relationship with Julie Andrews. Whoever they get to be the new “10″ will likely make or break the prospects of this particular reimagineering, but the search process will likely bring a lot of publicity.
