As Seen On TV
Showtime has announced that Emmy winner Jimmy Smits has joined the cast of critical darling “Dexter.” “Dexter’s” third season premieres this fall, with Smits on board for 10 of the 12 episodes. Smits is playing “an ambitious, charismatic assistant district attorney who comes from one of Miami’s most politically powerful and beloved families.” His character will team with Michael C. Hall’s Dexter—a serial killer who just happens to work for the Miami Police Department—to pursue a murderer who affects both their lives. Wonder what that means….Smits was last seen on TV as the patriarch of a hot-blooded dynasty on CBS’ “Cane,” which was not renewed for a second season.
