Nightly with Nadum: Tuesday’s Best

Reaper

Tuesday nights have much less to offer than Monday, making it a good time to clean out that DVR or catch up with your favorite shows via On Demand. Still, with a few smart choices there’s plenty to occupy your time.

Reaper – 9:00 p.m. on The CW
The eve’s strongest network TV outing and one of the fall season’s best new shows, Reaper tells the tale of Sam, an underachiever who (on his 21st birthday no less) learns that prior to his birth, his parents sold his soul to the devil. When the devil comes to collect, Sam is assigned the task of collecting those who have escaped from hell and returning them to whence they came. It’s a load of laughs and Ray Wise makes for a delightful devil, making Reaper a sure thing.

House – 9:00 p.m. on Fox
In the season premiere of House, the good Doctor is pushed into assembling a new medical team. Naturally, given his less-than-sunny disposition, House is resistant, instead deciding to rely upon the janitor. Unfortunately, it’s not ‘Janitor’ from Scrubs, which doesn’t bode well for his potential patients.

Weeds – 10:00 p.m. on Showtime
Bet you thought I forget yesterday didn’t you? Not a chance. Given how heavy the Monday night schedule is, in an effort to keep your TV week from peaking too early, Nightly with Nadum has determined Showtime’s Monday comedy hour is best experienced during its Tuesday night encore viewing.

Californication – 11:00 p.m. on Showtime
I know, it’s hard to wait, but after Prison Break, How I Met Your Mother, Chuck and Heroes, did you really the energy left to give these two masterpieces the love and attention they deserve?
