ESPN Fires Hugh Douglas

An apparent drunken tirade and use of a racial slur has cost former NFL star Hugh Douglas his job at ESPN.

Douglas regularly appeared on “Numbers Never Lie.” But after a few too many he unleaded a tirade on the show’s host, Michael Smith, at the National Association of Black Journalists Convention and Career Fair in Orlando. He reportedly called Smith an “Uncle Tom” and “house n****” in front of a roomful of stunned observers.

The former Pro Bowl defensive end has not been on the air since the incident over a week ago. He confirmed his parting of ways (nice phrase for fired) via Twitter.
