We at Olympic Talk pride ourselves on being the final word regarding all things Olympic basketball (we argued Kris Humphries was perfect for Team USA… twice) but President Barack Obama, on hand for the 80-69 U.S. victory over Brazil Monday, brought the hammer down on the recent Dream team vs. London team debate. So who would win?

“I’ve got to go with the Dream Team,” the Leader of the Free World and arbiter of all sports told ESPN at halftime. “I suspect that Michael and ‘Sir Charles’ and others would point out they were probably never down at any point in any of their games.” Burn!

So that’s it. We’re done, right? We can stop asking inane questions about two teams that could never actually compete without the use of a time machine? And we all stipulate time machines do not currently exist but it would be awesome if they did? Excellent.

Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, Kevin Durant and the gang will play exhibitions against Great Britain, Argentina, and Spain before the Olympic tournament kicks off July 29.
