High School Pitcher Nails Bird With Pitch, BIRD SURVIVES!

Ryne Elvers, who pitches for Sacred Heart-Griffin High School in Springfield, Ill., nailed a bird that found itself in a bad spot between the mound and home plate. The pitch, of course, conjures memories of the famous Randy Johnson bird incident, although this was not quite as high profile.

The good news here is that the bird somehow shook off the fastball and flew away, alive but we assume a bit shaken.
